Hi8 and MiniDV videotapes convertion to DVD

I need expert advice about where to find quality equipment that can convert Hi8 (8mm videtapes) and MiniDV tapes into DVD format - cost effectively. Any suggestion, proposal, quotation is welcome. Also links to professional/hobby websites/blogs are considered useful
